TAWAU, June 10 (Bernama) -- About 1,500 residents of Kampung Wallace Bay and
Kampung Bergosong in Pulau Sebatik here will enjoy piped water supply before the
Sebatik assemblyman Abdul Muis Picho said it was a government initiative
through the rural water supply project, adding that other villages on the island
would enjoy the facility in the second phase of the project.
Abdul Muis also said that 30 houses in Kampung Sungai Tongkang and Kampung
Bergosong had received electricity supply.
He said about 70 more houses would receive electricity soon, followed by
Kampung Mentadak and Kampung Tamang.
He added that the government was now working on several projects for the
benefit of the residents of the island including building a "surau" in Kampung
Sungai Melayu and a volleyball court in Kampung Sungai Pukul.
