102 STUDENTS IN JELI GET FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR EDUCATION

JELI, 2 Ogos  (Bernama) -- A total 102 students in the Jeli parliamentary

constituency received RM800 each as preliminary financial assistance from

Federal government''s compassionate fund for Kelantan to

enable them to continue studies at institutions of higher learnings this year.

The aid was presented by Kelantan Development Action Council chairman and

Jeli Member of Parliament Datuk Mustapa Mohamed here today.

Mustapa told reporters after the ceremony that to date, RM15 million from

the fund had yet to be distributed to the people in the state for education,

helping victims of natural disasters and others.

Meanwhile, he said clarification would be made in connection with the

distribution of the fund to prove it was solely for the benefit of the people of

Kelantan and the transparency of the federal government.
