PUTRAJAYA, May 24 (Bernama) -- MalTechPro Sdn Bhd today introduced the first

Malaysian made tablet known as ''1Malaysia Pad'', which is fully equipped with a

touch screen, android system, wireless broadband, 3G and the latest

applications.

Its executive chairman Datuk Sohaimi Shahadan said the seven-inch tablet

was also equipped with the 1Malaysia Messenger application, which enable its

users to communicate free of charge with each other through short messages,

pictures as well as video and voice recording.

"There are also various other user-friendly applications which are

characterised by the identity of Malaysia, other than the same applications

available for other brands,"he told reporters after the the pre-launch ceremony

by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail

Sabri Yaakob here, today.

Targetting of 5,000 units for their initial sale with the introductory price

at only RM999, Sohaimi said the company was also ready to modify applications

for those buying in bulk for their departments or agencies.
