PASIR PUTEH, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Some 300 traditional fishermen in Kelantan
will be offered new houses under the fishermen''s relocation project in the
fishing port of Tok Bali here in May.
Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) Kelantan director,
Wan Mohd Adnan Wan Ibrahim said the fishermen involved were from Tumpat, Kota
Baharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh.
"Priority will be given to those who are still not owning houses or are
living in dilapidated houses," he told reporters when visiting the Tok Bali
Fishery Port here today.
Wan Mohd Adnan said the interviewing of eligible fishermen for the new
houses was being carried out and was expected to be completed by April.
He said the relocated area is very strategic as it is half a kilometre from
the Tok Bali fishing port which began operation last year.
