£5million Lotto winner’s £100,000 Bentley flooded

Robert Johnson won the £5million jackpot in 2008 and although he kept the win private, he treated himself to the Bentley Continental GT.

The car was ruined after he tried to drive it through a flooded road in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and the car became swamped. The road was under three feet of water after a stream burst its banks.

An AA rescue truck was at the scene soon after but could not remove the car because Bentleys can only be towed from the front and Mr Johnson's car was only accessible from the back. While most would be deeply saddened by the loss of such a beautiful ride, Mr Johnson was more resolute.

His replacement vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz E class.
