PETALING JAYA, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Adidas Malaysia Sdn Bhd today unveiled
the world''s first intelligent football boots, the adizero F50 powered with smart
devices called miCoach Speed Cell, which allows footballers to record their
speed, distance covered and work rate during a match or training session.
The global launch of the boots, dubbed ''the boots with the brain'' was
held in the United Kingdom in November last year, by multiple World Player of
the Year award winner Lionel Messi of Argentina.
Adidas Malaysia Brand and Sports Marketing Manager Bryan Gee said the
boots was the lightest in its class, weighing only 165g, yet the smartest ever
produced by the sports equipment manufacturer.
"miCoach turns this boots into the ultimate digital training tool by letting
the footballers to track and upload their data performance including speed,
number of sprints, distance and distance at high intensity level," he told
reporters at the launching of the boots at the NPNG Sports Centre in Damansara
Damai, here today.
Also present were Harimau Muda A squad and their coach, Ong Kim Swee.

Gee said the miCoach was equipped with a removable sensor inside that allows
its user to transfer all the information during a football match and training
sessions to their computer, smart phone or tablet via inbuilt Bluetooth
technology.
He added that the device, the size of a tiny thumb drive, was located in the
sole of the shoes, which could also be used in other adidas shoes such as
basketball and running shoes.
The boots powered with miCoach priced at RM780 a pair, is now available at
all participating Adidas Sports Performance outlets and comes in five colours -
high energy, black, prime blue, white and phantom.
The ''miCoach'' which comprises a Speed Cell and a smart device dongle is also
sold separately and available for RM299 for the iPod and iPhone platform version
and RM260 for the personal computer and Mac platform type.
