AGONG LEAVES FOR THREE-DAY STATE VISIT TO BRUNEI

SEPANG, May 9 (Bernama) --- Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim

Mu''adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah today left for a

three-day state visit to Brunei Darussalam.

The aircraft that carried the royal couple took off at about 3.10pm from the

Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, here.

Before the departure, the national anthem Negaraku was played followed by a

21-gun salute.

The King also inspected the guard-of-honour mounted by 103 officers and

members of the 1st Battalion, Royal Malay Regiment.

The doa was then recited led by Federal Territory Mufti, Datuk Wan Zahidi

Wan Teh.

This state visit is the first for Tuanku Abdul Halim since being installed

as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on April 11.

The King and Queen are scheduled to return to Malaysia this Friday.
