Oscar-winning "The Artist" star Jean Dujardin will play alongside British actor Tim Roth in a French-directed spy thriller set in the world of high finance, the production firm said Friday.
"Mobius", due for release next year, features Dujardin as a Russian intelligence officer who falls in love with one of his agents, an American trader who works for Roth's powerful Russian oligarch, Europacorp said.
The French heart-throb has already acted in a series of spoof spy thrillers directed by Michel Hazanavicius, who made "The Artist" which delivered a best actor prize to Dujardin last year in Cannes before going on to scoop five Oscars.
The new work will be directed by France's Eric Rochant, the production company said in a statement.
Roth is currently serving on the jury of Un Certain Regard sidebar competition at the Cannes Film Festival and is promoting the new British film "Broken", in which he has a leading role.
He is best known for his parts in Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction".
