KUCHING, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Amanah Saham Sarawak Berhad (ASSB) today
announced an interim cash distribution of 1.50 per cent or equivalent to 1.5 sen
per unit for the state unit trust fund, Amanah Saham Sarawak (ASSAR) unit
holders, for the first half of its financial year ending June 30, 2012.
A total of RM8.32 million will be distributed to the 72,263 registered unit
holders, who had subscribed to 554.54 million ASSAR units as at December 2011.
"The interim cash distribution, which is the 24th dividend exercise for
ASSAR since its inception in August 1993, demonstrates its commitment and
ability to sustain the policy of declaring dividends to its unit holders," ASSB,
the management company, said in a statement here.
It said dividends amounting to RM500 and below would be automatically
reinvested into ASSAR units and credited into the holders'' accounts.
Cheque payments for dividend amounts exceeding RM500 would be forwarded to
the unit holder’s latest address in the ASSAR investor register.
The net asset value of ASSAR following the interim dividend payment will
remain at RM1.00 per unit.
Since its inception, ASSAR had distributed a total of RM578.04 million in
cash dividend and bonus units to its investors, or equivalent to an average
return of 6.57 per cent per annum.
