KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- A robber had the audacity to demand
his victim to serve him rice soon after he broke into the house of an assistant
veterinarian in Kampung Bukit Payung, Besut here.
However, after surrendering a pair of gold bangles, the victim outsmarted
the suspect by telling him to help himself and made her getaway while he was
busy eating.
Speaking at a press conference here today, State Criminal Investigation
Department chief ACP K Manoharan said the machete wielding suspect broke into
the house at 8.30 am yesterday and threatened the 21-year-old victim who was
home alone.
"The terrified victim, 21, surrendered her two gold bangles. Then he asked
her to serve rice, but the victim told him to get it himself from the kitchen,
and escaped to the neighbours house while he was doing so and called her father
and the police," he said.
According to Manoharan, the suspect and his accomplice, who was waiting in a
car, escaped before police and the girl''s father arrived.
