Organised by Inception Ideas Sdn Bhd, HOMEX 2012 is strictly a property and new development showcase. PropertyGuru talks to the event's project manager, Adrian Cho to find out what makes HOMEX 2012 different from other property showcases around.
Q. Describe the concept of HOMEX 2012. How does it differ from other exhibitions that have been organised in the region/country?
A. HOMEX 2012 is a property-only exhibition, which features selected Malaysian developers, and is one of the first property shows to be held in Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, a usually-elusive venue for event organisers especially when it comes to property expos. Spanning three days with each featuring different developments in different areas, visitors have the choice of coming on whichever day(s)/development area(s) they prefer.
Q. Who are your target markets in terms of visitors and participants at HOMEX 2012? How many exhibitors are you aiming to participate during the event?
A. We are looking at over 20 developers to participate in this inaugural event and double the number for the next year. Target visitors can be anything in the region of 30,000-50,000 over the three-day duration. With over 100 booths available, visitors will be given first-hand opportunities to get an insight of new developments and projects directly from the developers, which is always better as compared to typical viewings of sub-sale units.
Q. To-date, how has the take-up rate been for participation in HOMEX 2012? Who are among the confirmed participants?
A. Expect the big boys like Sime Darby Property, Mah Sing, PJ Development, OSK Property, Glenmarie, Nadayu, MK Land and many more, all showcasing their latest projects as well as some of their upcoming ones.
