TEMERLOH, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The body of another man believed to have
drowned after jumping into a swamp to escape the police during a raid on a
cock-fighting den in Kampung Paya Keladan here two days ago was found today.
Deputy Temerloh police chief Supt Zundin Mahmood said Che Ismadi Che Ismail,
48, from Kampung Bukit Tingkat here, was among the 31 men believed to have been
involved in the cockfight gambling in the area last Sunday.
"His body was found floating in the swamp by the search and rescue team,
which comprised members of the fire and rescue department, police and local
residents, at about 9.30am," he told Bernama here today.
Yesterday, the search and rescue team found the body of Azis Suhor, 49, who
also drowned after jumping into the swamp to escape the police.
The rest of the men, aged between 30 and 50, were arrested.
Police also seized 17 roosters, as well as equipment and devices used for
cockfighting during the raid.
The case would be investigated under Section 7 (1) of the Open Gaming House
Act 1953 and Section 44 of the Animal Ordinance 1953.
