Bojan Krkic has arrived in Milan and should complete a season-long loan move from Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old forward will join the Rossoneri after an agreement was reached between the officials of AC Milan, Barca and Roma, whom he joined on an extended loan in the summer of 2011.

He confirmed the deal, telling journalists at Roma airport: "It's official. I will go to AC Milan."

Sources have told Goal.com that Milan have negotiated an option to buy Bojan permanently next year and will pay Roma a €1million [£800,000] loan bonus to complete the deal.

Bojan joined Roma from Barcelona 12 months ago in what was billed as a permanent transfer but was essentially a two-year loan, with the Spanish giants retaining the right to re-sign the player for €13million [£10.3m] in 2013.

Roma negotiated an option to buy Bojan for €28m [£22.3m] next year but will waive their right following a disappointing campaign at the Stadio Olimpico in which he scored just seven goals.

Speaking earlier on Tuesday, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed the club were close to signing a player who has long been admired by their manager Massimiliano Allegri.

"Bojan is a player Allegri likes," Galliani told Sky Sport 24. "Things are moving forward. The talks are going well. Hopefully, we should complete the deal today."

Bojan’s departure ends the prospect of Marco Borriello leaving Roma this summer.

The striker has rejected offers from Tottenham and a second Premier League club, believed to be QPR, in the hope of a switch to an elite Italian club but that has failed to materialise and Roma coach Zdenek Zeman is unwilling to lose another forward on top of Bojan.
