GEORGE TOWN, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Police are confident that they would solve
the case where a university student allegedly posted threatening message against
the prime minister on his social media web page, in another two weeks.
Penang police chief Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob said the police were currently
waiting for the full report from the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia
Commission before submitting their investigation findings to the public
prosecutor.
"The student is still free on police bail. We cannot take any action against
him until he is proven guilty by the court," he told reporters here today.
The 24-year-old student of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) allegedly posted
a message on his social web page which read: "Najib is coming to our
campus...lets bomb his helicopter." and was arrested on Jan 15.
Ayub also called on the public not to be prejudiced and label the student
with negative terms until he was proven guilty.
