KUALA LIPIS, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Cafeteria operators in Pahang have been
urged to provide the 1Malaysia People''s Menu which offer a breakfast package at
a minimum of RM2 and lunch of RM4 at their premises.
Pahang Human Resources and Consumer Affairs Committee Chairman Datuk Fong
Koong Fuee said that although the state government had no intention of making it
compulsory, the cafeteria operators should take it upon themselves to reduce the
people''s burden.
This would be in line with the implementation of the 1Malaysia People''s
Welfare programme which involved providing various aid to ease the people''s
burden, like assistance for poor senior citizens and children and allowance for
persons with disabilities, he told reporters after presenting the Bantuan Rakyat
1Malaysia (BR1M) to recipients in the Cheka state constituency here.
Fong, who is Cheka State Assemblyman, said various programmes had been
implemented by the federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to safeguard the people''s interests, including the
1Malaysia People''s Shop (KR1M), where the price of KR1M goods is cheaper by 40
per cent compared with other brands.
Also present at the function were Lipis Member of Parliament Datuk Dr
Mohamad Shahrom Osman and Lipis District Police Chief Supt Abdul Razak Hassan.
