CAMPAIGN AGAINST WAR, CRIMINALISATION OF WAR MUST CONTINUE - MAHATHIR

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- The campaign against war and the

criminalisation of war must continue because wars involved killing people,

mostly the innocent, said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise

War (KLFCW) chairman, said the public needed to support the foundation to fight

in making war a crime.

"We must stop the massive killing that is called war," said the Perdana

Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) president at the KLFCW''s second Royal Charity

Dinner here tonight.

Also present were the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu''adzam Shah

and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Haminah, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib

Tun Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Dr Mahathir said, as a voluntary organisation, KLFCW needed the support of

the public to sustain its activities to educate the public on war.

He said the aim of the event was to raise funds for KLFCW to carry out its

activities and continue investigative work pertaining to reports of war crimes,

in collaboration with PGPF.

About 500 people, including sponsors and donors, attended the dinner.
