MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Louis Chenevert, the chairman and CEO of United Technologies Corp., is joining the board of privately-held food and agriculture company Cargill.
Chenevert has led the maker of Sikorsky helicopters, Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines and Otis elevators since 2008 and became chairman last year. He also spent 14 years in leadership positions at General Motors Co.
Chenevert joins five other independent directors on Cargill's board: Richard H. Anderson, CEO of Delta Air Lines Inc.; Arthur D. Collins, Jr., retired chairman and CEO of medical device maker Medtronic Inc.; Linda Zarda Cook, former executive director of Royal Dutch Shell PLC; Bernard Poussot, former chairman, CEO and president of drug maker Wyeth; and Richard M. Kovacevich, chairman emeritus of bank Wells Fargo & Co.
