KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) - The Cemetery In The Park and E-Pusara
concept implemented at Raudhatul Sakinah Muslim cemetery in Mukim Batu, Gombak
should be expanded to other states.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Raudhatul Sakinah
modern concept has set a benchmark for Muslims here by making the cemetery
organised.
"This new initiative created a beautiful area and equipped with information
technology and facilities for complete burial system unseen elsewhere," he said
when opening Raudhatul Sakinah here today.
He said it is time to change the concept of cemetery so that Muslims are no
longer scared when coming across graves.
"Muslim cemeteries were poorly managed making it difficult for family
members to locate graves. I had a bad experience when trying to find graves as
cemeteries had no records.".

Muhyiddin is optimistic that the launch of Raudhatul Sakinah will lead to
many queries on the new and modern concept of Muslim cemetery.
"The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has something that
can be patented and and marketed to other states," he added.
Raudatul Sakinah located on a 98 acre site was developed by MAIWP since
2008 with an initial allocation of RM5 million for the first phase.
