Say Cheeeeese: SingTel Acquires Photo App Pixable for $26.5 Million

Singapore-based carrier SingTel (ASX:SGT.AX - News) sure loves social apps, today snapping up the US photo-sharing service Pixable for US$26.5 million. Pixable (app pictured right), which says it has over 4 million users, claims to be a smarter way to browse friend’s photos than offered by the likes of Instagram, using algorithms to show you more relevant images.

The SingTel acquisition gives Pixable a boost in emerging markets.

Back in May of this year, SingTel gobbled up the foodie service HungryGoWhere for nearly $10 million. Read more about the Pixable deal at the source link.
