"Cold War" sweeps at HKFA

15 Apr – Sunny Luk - Longman Leung's film "Cold War" is the biggest winner at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards.

According to the Hollywood Reporter website, the Hong Kong police film swept the most awards, winning nine out of the 19 categories in competition on 13 April.

Winning Best Film and Best Director for Longman Leung and Sunny Luk, as well as awards for editing, film score, screenplay and effects among the few; the movie's lead star, Tony Leung (Ka Fai) also won Best Actor for the fourth time, beating out the other nominees including seven times Best Actor, Nick Cheung and critics favourite, Tony Leung (Chiu Wai).

"Cold War" was the highest grossing local production in Hong Kong in 2012, raking in HKD5.4 million at the Hong Kong box office.

On the other hand, Miriam Yeung won Best Actress for her role in "Love in a Buff", beating out other competitions – Sammi Cheng, Elanne Kong and Zhou Xun, with the the latter nominated for two films in the same category but decided to forgo the event.
