"At that time many people were running and entering Avenue K, and among the
crowd I saw a man sitting stretched out, sweating all over while his eyes were
looking upwards...after that I heard a woman shouting for assistance," he said,
when replying to Kalmizah.
Silahuddin said he was then on the 3pm to 12am evening shift, and around 4pm
saw many people fleeing towards the building but did not know why they were
doing so.
He said he had earlier directed the building''s security guards to place the
iron signboard at the front of the building to prevent participants of the
illegal rally from using the area.
According to him there were three iron gates at the building but only two
were closed fully.
Meanwhile, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan Battalion 8 deputy head, Insp Mohd
Alamshah Gulam, 30, said he was on duty at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)
during the illegal rally and no tear gas was fired there as the participants had
cooperated after he issued an order to disperse.
The inquest continues tomorrow.
