The Czech Republic's most capped player Karel Poborsky said that he saw similarities between the Euro '96 finalists and the one competing at Euro 2012.
Poborsky said that just as in 1996 this Czech side had made a bad start only to get better as it went along, and like 1996 they face Portugal in the quarter-finals.
The former Manchester United and Lazio star decided that match with a stunning lob which completely caught Portuguese goalkeeper Vitor Baia unawares.
Poborsky said he could see a similar type of goal proving the difference in Thursday's match.
"I think that one of the guys could pull off a similar thing," he told Czech agency CTK.
"They are sufficiently adroit and experienced to do so.
"Everyone remembers that goal, everyone talks about it," he added.
