Vicente del Bosque is looking forward to Wednesday's international friendly against Puerto Rico and wants Spain to give a good account of themselves.
La Roja successfully defended their European title earlier this summer, and the national team coach wants them to continue in the same spirit.
"We will try to continue on the positive path we are on now, and perform in the best way possible toward the next World Cup," Del Bosque was quoted as saying by AS.
"It is important that we are always an example for the people who are watching our games. We know that we have to play well and have to look good.
"We are always a bit concerned about our players, so we hope that nobody will get injured. We want to start the preparation for the 2014 World Cup on a high."
