    PKR mulls delaying party polls

PETALING JAYA, May 22 — PKR is considering delaying its party elections, initially scheduled for November, as the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) anchor party is still recovering from a “fierce” Election 2013 battle, its secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution said today.

30 Jun – Fans who were excited to find that Hollywood's resident eccentric, Johnny Depp, will be succeeding William Powell's role in "The Thin Man", a 1934 American comic detective film by W.S. Van Dyke, however, the project has been announced to be on hold as of now.

The main reason for the delay of its production date in November was said to be the proposed US$100 million budget. Depp's "The Thin Man" is the latest addition in the list of blockbusters that were pulled back, which includes "Arthur & Lancelot" and "Akira".

"The Thin Man" centres on the story of a couple, Nick and Nora Charles, played by William Powell and Myrna Loy respectively, a flirtatious married couple who banter wittily as they solve crimes with ease. The "Thin Man" of the title is not Nick Charles, but the man that Charles is hired to find, Clyde Wynant. The film itself was based on Dashiell Hammett's mystery novel of the same name.

No new date has been set for the shooting yet, but Warner Bros. is in no rush as they have not yet found an actress to play Nora, the wealthy heiress wife of Nick's hard-drinking retired detective persona.

If anything, director Rob Marshall will most likely shoot the fantasy musical "Into the Woods" next.

"The Thin Man" comes to theatres in 2013 and stars Johnny Depp. The film is directed by Rob Marshall.
