KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 (Bernama) -- Dean of Diplomatic Corps Nasser Salman
Alaboodi hopes Malaysia will continue to record high achievement in its march
towards an advanced country.
He said Malaysia could achieve this under the guidance of the Yang
di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu''adzam Shah and with concerted efforts
from the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
In his congratulatory speech in conjunction with the birthday of the King at
Istana Negara here today, Alaboodi said Malaysia, which was known for social
stability, racial harmony and sustainable economic growth, continued to play a
unique and important role in international and regional affairs.
"We realise that this is possible due to the moral driving force of the
monarchy, the wise political leadership, and the commitment and participation of
"Indeed, respect, tolerance, abiding by the law and willingness to help
others, irrespective of race and religion, has united the country and made
Malaysia unique," said Alaboodi, who is also the United Arab Emirates Ambassador

Alaboodi commended Malaysia for always having demonstrated its capacity to
play a leadership role on matters pertaining to foreign affairs.
He said the diplomatic corps acknowledged Malaysia''s important contribution
in international cooperation, as an active member of the United Nations, and a
key player in Asean and other trans-regional groups such as the Non-Aligned
Movement and the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation.
Commending Malaysia''s good reputation, which continues to grow very
positively, he said, "My colleagues and I would like to express our appreciation
for the constructive role Malaysia has been playing."
On behalf of the diplomatic corps, Alaboodi conveyed their congratulations
and best wishes to Tuanku Abdul Halim, Raja Permaisuri Agong and members of the
royal family for continued good health and happiness.
The diplomatic corps also wish the people of Malaysia more prosperity,
harmony and peace, added Alaboodi.
