Dollah is convinced Pahang can compete in the Malaysia Cup

Pahang proved they are ready for the Malaysia Cup after holding Malaysian Super League (MSL) runner-up Lions XII to a 1-1 draw at the Darul Makmur Stadium on Saturday night.

The result gave early indication that Pahang’s presence cannot be taken lightly and the team’s coach, Dollah Salleh was left satisfied with his team’s form going into the Malaysia Cup in two weeks’ time.

“I am happy that the players came back from a goal down to tie this game,” he told Berita Harian.  “It shows that we can compete with the MSL teams.”

The former Selangor coach also revealed that Pahang would not be getting any players in on loan for the competition.

“We tried for several big names but our attempts failed. I want only quality players and not bench warmers for the Malaysia Cup,” Dollah added.

However, he is confident that it would not be a problem and the players he already has in his disposal can be counted upon.

“I’m placing my trust in the players we’ve got now because after all they’re the ones who helped us gain promotion for next season’s MSL,” he concluded.

Pahang will start their Malaysia Cup campaign on August 22 with a home fixture against T-Team.
