14 May – It was revealed that the popular KBS' 2011 drama "Dream High" took home an award at this year's international television festival, "Rose d'Or Awards" which took place at Lucerne, Switzerland on 10 May.
Korea.net reported that according to the official Rose d'Or website, "Dream High" won the grand prize in the "Children & Youth" category. The drama came out as a winner and knocked down United Kingdom's "Kindle Entertainment" and Germany's "You're Not a Werewolf".
This would be the first time that a Korean production had won such honourable award.
First established in 1961, the Rose d'Or international television festival annually awards selected television entertainment programmes from all over the world including Australia, UK, Germany, Asia and United States 'Golden Roses' for originality and quality.
