A goal at the start of the second half from the recalled Wayne Rooney lifted England into the quarter-finals on Tuesday with a 1-0 win over co-hosts Ukraine.
Roy Hodgson's England, who now face Italy as Ukraine crash out, needed just a point to reach the quarter-finals but Rooney's close range header from a Steven Gerrard cross made absolutely sure after he had earlier missed another headed chance.
Artem Milevskiy missed a simple header for Ukraine before John Terry cleared off the line from Marko Devic - although the ball appeared to have gone in, sparking controversy.
A draw could have taken Ukraine through as France lost 2-0 to Sweden, but instead the French advance.
