European Markets Slightly Up

European markets held steady Wednesday after recent gains on the back of upbeat manufacturing data from the euro-zone.

The FTSE traded flat. The CAC 40 Paris edged up 0.1% while the German DAX gained 0.5%.

More data is due from the euro-zone, including GDP figures.

Stocks on the Move

Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC was down 1.1%

Banks traded mixed.

Over in Paris, BNP Paribas was up 0.6% while SocGen traded flat.

U.S. car sales data yesterday helped boost auto stocks. Porsche was up 2.2% in Frankfurt as it saw its U.S. sales increase 9.2% in March. BMW saw a sales growth of 7.9%. BMW shares revved 1.5% higher.

Deutsche Post surged 3.6% after it provided new financial targets that the markets liked.

But Deutsche Boerse AG fell 2.2% after the exchange operator said its Clearstream Banking SA unit is subject to a criminal investigation in the U.S.
