Seorang anggota exco Kedah mempertikaikan garis panduan oleh kerajaan negeri berhubung sambutan Tahun Baru Cina yang antara lainnya menggariskan cara pemakaian pegawai dan artis yang terlibat agar bersopan dan tidak menjolok mata,

Pengerusi jawatankuasa alam sekitar, hal ehwal masyarakat Cina dan pengangkutan Tan Chow Kang daripada PKR berkata garis panduan yang dikuatkuasa ke atas orang Islam sejak 2008, tidak sepatutnya diperluas kepada orang bukan Islam.

Beliau dipetik akhbar Oriental Daily News sebagai berkata, garis panduan berkenaan dikeluarkan pada 9 Januari oleh exco Hamdan Mohamed Khalib kepada pegawai daerah Kota Setar Bakar Din, untuk sambutan menjelang Tahun Baru Cina pada 10 dan 11 Februari.

Hamdan yang dilantik PAS, memegang portfolio kesihatan, belia dan sukan, kebudayaan, seni dan warisan.

Tan berkata beliau akan membantu masyarakat Cina untuk menghadapi masalah yang timbul dari pelaksanaan garis panduan tersebut.

Garis panduan itu antara lainnya menyenaraikan perkara berikut:

Pegawai dan artis yang terlibat hendaklah bersopan, tidak menjolok mata. Artis digalakkan membuat persembahan nyanyian dan lagu berunsurkan ketuhanan atau nasihat dan tidak melalaikan serta melampau. Jika berlaku nyanyian dan tarian yang melampau, pihak kerajaan berhak memberhentikan program yang dijalankan dengan serta merta.

Tan berkata tuntutan supaya artis berpakaian sopan tidak boleh diterima.
