PUCHONG: Five days later, the parents of nine year-old Adryn Muhammad, who was mauled by three dogs in Taman Bukit Kiara, are still waiting for action against the owner of the canines.
The father, Mazlan Yunos, 47, expressed his disappointment over the nonchalant attitude of the Veterinary Services Department (DVS).
When contacted yesterday, Mazlan said DVS officers had visited the house where the three dogs were kept but had yet to seize or remove the animals.
"The officers contacted me for the dog owner's name and contact number but when I checked today, two of the dogs are still inside the kennel," he said.
Mazlan said the authorities were slow in responding to the case and felt the dogs should not be left unguarded or allowed to roam freely around the neighbourhood.
"Strangely, one of the three dogs that attacked my son was nowhere to be seen," he said.
Meanwhile, a DVS spokesman said they have yet to pick up the dogs as the owner was currently outstation and would only return tomorrow.
"We know there is only one caretaker looking after the dogs. He travels back and forth to the house to feed the dogs. We will only pick up the dogs once the owner is back," said the spokesman.
He said initial checks showed one of the three dogs had run away after allegedly attacking Adryn.
Last Saturday, Adryn was attacked by three dogs while riding his new bicycle just several metres away from his house in Taman Bukit Kiara.
