FINANCE MINISTRY EXPLAINS CRITERIA FOR RM500 BR1M ASSISTANCE

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- The Finance Ministry today explained that

the gross household income criteria of RM3,000 and less for those applying for

the RM500 Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) referred to the total income of a

family living in the same house.

This refers to a husband, wife and dependents still single, working and

living under the same house.

In a media release here today, it said the head of a household would have to

bring a BR1M application form, a copy of the applicant''s identity card and

latest pay slip (if applicable) when making the application.

The BR1M forms are available free at all branch offices and services centre

of the Inland Revenue Board, Information Department, Federal Territories

Development Department and government agencies as well as at the main lobby of

the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya and selected schools.

The forms would be made available starting December 10, from 9.00 am till

5.00 pm.

When returning the BR1M form, the head of the household should also attach a

copy of the dependents'' identify cards, be it husband, wife or child.

All the required documents should be sent in together with the BR1M form in

order for the applications to be processed fast and without any problems, the

statement said.

5.00 pm on working days).

The lines will also operate this Saturday, Dec 10 and Sunday, Dec 11.

Second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah will be

distributing the forms for the government financial assistance from 9.00 am

Saturday (Dec 10) at the SMK Aminuddin Baki, Jalan Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur.
