MELAKA, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- A financial management programme known as Power
has been introduced for trainees undergoing the National Service (NS) Training
Programme to provide them with basic knowledge on managing their expenses.
Defence Ministry secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Ahmad said the
programme was introduced for the first time this year.
"The programme can, indirectly, instill sense of responsibility and
accountability for the financial support provided by their parents," he told a
media conference after visiting the NS training camp at Ayer Keroh here today.
He said Power was a continuation of the personal financial management
programme introduced by the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK)
to the NS trainees in 2007.
Also present at the function were National Service Training Department
Director-General Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang Kechil and AKPK chief executive officer,
Koid Swee Lian.
