Fitbit now available on Windows Phone 8.1

Marking the first adaptation of a fitness tracking app to Microsoft's platforms, Fitbit's new native app for Windows is said to be nearly identical to the iOS and Android versions.

The one exception that makes the app unique is its accordance with Microsoft's Live Tile style, in which the apps reveal their latest information on the start screen without the need for opening.

Fitbit users will, therefore, be able to access their latest fitness stats on the start screen and subsequently open the app to enjoy the same wireless real-time syncing of exercise and sleep.

They will access the same graphs and goal-setting materials as well as the recently enhanced food library and, of course, the motivational social networking the app offers.

Data is to sync with the app for those who already own devices from FitBit.

The app can be downloaded for free at the Windows Phone Store.
