Forlan wants Inter exit, claims father

Inter striker Diego Forlan is seeking a summer move to Atletico Mineiro, his father has revealed.

The Uruguay international has been strongly linked with pastures new after enduring a frustrating start to life at San Siro following his transfer from Atletico Madrid last summer.

Edgar Goulart, a friend of the player's father, Pablo, and Atletico Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil revealed on Wednesday that both parties were interested in making a deal come to fruition.

Forlan senior has now spoken of his son's distress at San Siro and stated that Inter will not stand in the way of a transfer.

"Diego has never played at Inter in his natural position," Pablo Forlan told Estado de Minas. "He had an injury, but he has never been prone to fitness problems.

"He is sad because he has not been playing where he was so successful at Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.

"Everything indicates that there is the possibility that he will play in Brazil, because he wants to play in the Confederations Cup and at the World Cup.

"He can still play three more years. We want an agreement with Atletico Mineiro to be reached.

"From what we know and think, Inter will facilitate a transfer."

Forlan has scored two goals in 22 appearances for the Nerazzurri, who lie in sixth position in the Serie A table.
