KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (Bernama) -- The grandson of former Malaysian National
News Agency (Bernama) general manager Datuk Seri Azman Ujang who was placed in
the care of a creche in Flora Damansara, near here, died today.
The two-month-old baby did not wake up from sleep and a minder at the centre
informed the baby''s mother at 11am about it while she and her husband were at
work.
Azman said Mohd Affan Syahim Mohd Rizal was confirmed dead at the Sungai
Buloh Hospital, here, at 11.30am and the hospital was conducting a post-mortem
to identify the cause of death.
"A police report has been made. I am still in shock over the death of my
fifth grandchild. What''s more tragic is that today is his mother Sharafiza Abdul
Rahim''s 32nd birthday," he said when contacted.
Sharafiza said when she received the call from the childcare centre, she was
informed that they tried to wake up her baby but he did not respond.
"I immediately rushed my son to the nearest clinic before heading to the
hospital.
"I asked the minders in what position they put my baby to sleep and they
said face down. I have never put my child to sleep in that position," said the
mother who is still shocked over the death of her second child.
