KUANTAN, July 23 (Bernama) -- Three male students and a senior citizen died

in three separate accidents in Pahang yesterday.

Motorcyclist Muhammad Iwan Radzuan, 16, and pillion rider Muhammad Iqbal

Ahmad Fahairol, 13, died after their motorcycle was involved in a collision wth

a lorry.

Pahang Public Order and Traffic chief, Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said

their motorcycle were believed to have skidded at a bend and entered the

opposite lane at 3.30am at KM5 Jalan Bentong-Gombak.

"The motorcycle collided into a lorry heading towards Bentong, causing

them to fall onto the road and died instantlyy. The bodies were sent to the

Bentong Hospital for post-mortem," he said here, today.

In another accident, private college student, Muhammad Nur Nikmat Mohd

Soffian Solian, 18, died after his motorcycle skidded and hit an electric pole

at KM148 Jalan Kuantan-Segamat route near Rompin.

ACCIDENT-DEATH 2 (LAST) KUANTAN

"In the 1.50pm incident, the victim was heading from Gambang towards Melaka.

The victim was beleived to have hit a puddle on the road and skidded before

hitting an electric pole," he said.

In another accident, Tew Chai, 72, from Jalan Bahagia, Taman Angkasa here,

died after his motorcycle was hit by a car in Jalan Air Putih near here.

"In the 11.50am incident, the victim heading from Semambu towards Air Putih

suddenly turned into a right intersection and was hit by an on coming car."

He said the victim was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Tengku

Ampuan Afzan hospital in Kuantan.
