France opens manslaughter probe over missing MH370
French prosecutors today opened a judicial investigation for manslaughter following the disappearance of a Malaysian plane with 239 people on board.
The move by the Paris prosecutors is standard practice since four of the missing passengers are French nationals.
Today, the head of Interpol said the disappearance of the plane, which was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, was not likely the result of a terror attack.
"The more information we get, the more we are inclined to conclude it was not a terrorist incident," Ronald Noble said in Lyon, where Interpol is headquartered.
It was widely reported that the plane went missing at around 1.30am while flying above the South China Sea between the Malaysian east coast and the southern coast of Vietnam. – AFP, March 11, 2014.
