Frank Langella joins Viggo Mortensen in 'Captain Fantastic'

Tony Award winner Frank Langella is to feature in Matt Ross's "Captain Fantastic," a tale of off-the-grid living and family drama.

Langella ("Frost/Nixon") will appear alongside Viggo Mortensen ("Eastern Promises," "The Lord of the Rings") and six young rising stars.

Ross, recognized for his part in the ensemble performance that was "Good Night, and Good Luck" and a regular in recent TV series "Silicon Valley," "Revolution" and "Magic City" showed a talent for directing lesser-known actors in the critically acclaimed "28 Hotel Rooms."

For "Captain Fantastic," he'll be instructing Mortensen as a dad, remerging after having lived off the grid for ten years with his six kids, who are played in turn by Annalise Basso ("The Red Road"), Shree Crooks ("Extant"), Nicholas Hamilton ("Time"), Samantha Isler ("Sean Saves the World"), George MacKay ("For Those in Peril") and Charlie Shotwell ("The United Colors of Amani").

A 2015 release date is expected, as Deadline notes, with Langella also due to appear in "The Driftless Area" and "5 to 7," and Mortensen in "Jauja" and "Far From Men."
