GE Capital Extends Financing to Kohlberg & Co.

GE Antares, a unit of General Electric Company’s (GE) GE Capital, recently served as an administrative agent on a $160 million senior credit facility to Kohlberg & Company for the acquisition of PPC Industries. Kohlberg & Company is a leading U.S. private equity firm, which acquires middle market companies. Over the years, the company has invested $3 billion in various acquisitions and is currently investing in its seventh private equity fund Kohlberg Investors VII.

Kohlberg & Company has turned to GE Capital financing to support its inorganic growth plans. GE Antares will provide debt and a minor equity financing to Kohlberg & Company. The credit facility will facilitate the operating and strategic initiatives of Kohlberg & Company to fuel its growth strategy.

PPC Industries provides highly engineered specialty plastics solutions for applications in pharmaceutical, food and industrial markets. The acquisition is likely to provide synergies to Kohlberg & Company and support its growth objectives.
