GE Launches Automated Office Imaging Business Process

GE Capital, a part of General Electric Company (GE), recently launched automated meter reading for Office Imaging (OI) dealers. The new system will provide the advantage of automatically submitting customers' meter readings and receive customer payment information with no manual involvement by OI dealers, using the e-automate and OMD automated business management software systems.

In addition to efficient meter processing, the new process will help dealers to post cash payments received from GE Capital directly to their operating systems. The strategic product aims to make processes more seamless and cost-effective for dealers to run their business.

GE Capital has been a pioneer for over 20 years in the fields of billing, collecting and disbursing service revenue, with approximately 1.6 million meters billed in 2013. With the implementation of the new automated system, GE Capital will further cement its position as the largest provider of financing at all levels to OI businesses and users.

Apart from inventory financing, GE Capital provides an extensive array of business financing solutions, ranging from small equipment leases to large commercial loans. Its parent company, General Electric, is one of the largest and the most diversified technology and financial services corporations in the world.

General Electric’s products and services range from aircraft engines, power generation, water processing and security technology to medical imaging, business and consumer financing, media content and industrial products. Its segments include Power & Water, Oil & Gas, Energy Management, Aviation, Healthcare, Transportation, Home & Business Solutions and GE Capital.

General Electric currently has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Other better-ranked stocks in the industry that are worth investing include Textron Inc (TXT), ITT Corp. (ITT) and Federal Signal Corp (FSS), each carrying a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
