Gillian Chung speaks Shanghai dialect for new movie

20 Dec – Hong Kong actress Gillian Chung recently revealed that she is currently busy filming a new movie alongside Chinese actors Ge You and Zhang Ziyi.

As reported on Mingpao News, the singer-actress, who attended a fashion event recently, stated, "I can't talk much about the film right now, but all of us play Shanghainese and have to communicate in Shanghai dialect."

Gillian continued saying that since none of them, the mainland actors included, are from Shanghai, they all needed to learn the dialect with some teachers before starting the production.

When talking about her Twins partner Charlene Choi's headline-grabbing poster for her upcoming film, "Sara", which features a nude Charlene as the titular character in a tub filled with blood, Gillian said that Charlene was worried at first about the movie, but decided to do it due to the amazing script.

Asked if she would not mind doing nudity for a great script herself, Gillian smiled and said that she has yet to find a script good enough for her to warrant such a thing.
