GOVT TO INVESTIGATE ORANG ASLI CLAIMS OF BR1M CHARGE

KUANTAN, June 22 (Bernama) -- Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob

said the government would investigate claims by the Orang Asli community that

its members were imposed a charge to enable them to receive the 1Malaysia

People''s Assistance (BR1M).

He said, some members of the community had complained to him personally,

while he was attending a programme with Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin

Yassin at Pos Betau, Lipis yesterday.

"They said they were charged RM100 by the BR1M staff for two forms. We are

concerned and will investigate and take action against those responsible," he

told reporters after attending the launch of the Kamus Al-Quran by Regent of

Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah here today.
