KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- Makkal Sakti Party president, Datuk R.S.
Thanenthiran said the transformation programme mooted by Prime Minister Datuk
Seri Najib Tun Razak has helped the Indian community a lot.
He said the transformation taking place had also drawn increasing support of
the Indian community for the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
"After taking over as prime minister, Datuk Seri Najib quickly carried out
transformation which has also given special attention to the Indian community,
and their support for BN has returned as seen from their attendance at events
organised by BN."
Thanenthiran said the people should support the various initiatives of the
prime minister as it was clear that the transformation programmes were
benefiting them.
"The BN government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Najib always takes
care of the people''s welfare in line with its slogan of ''People First''," he said
after officiating at a Mother''s Day celebration organised by Makkal Sakti, here,
today.

About 1,500 people including single mothers and orphans were feted at the
celebration where they were also entertained with songs and dances.
Thanenthiran said based on the good response, the party planned to make the
celebration an annual affair, and the good turnout also showed that BN was
gaining increasing acceptance.
