MIRI, July 30 (Bernama) -- Gunmen shot dead an entertainment centre owner at
point-blank range at a traffic light junction in busy Jalan Bendahara here this
evening.
The 48-year-old victim who sustained two gunshot wounds in the head and
neck, died on the spot in his four-wheel-drive vehicle about 5.30pm.
The shooting resulted in a massive traffic jam as the area was a regular
haunt of tourists.
The victim was on the way home when he was confronted by the gunmen whose
mode of transport could not be immediately estabilished.
Miri police chief ACP Mun Kock Keong confirmed the incident.
The killing was the third such incident in Sarawak this year.
The first was reported on Jan 11 in Sibu, while the other was on July 12, in
Kuching.
