Step aside Spotify, there’s a new music streaming service available in our country. Introducing Guvera, an Australian’s creation developed to counter music piracy by providing a legal way for users to listen to music while awarding royalties to those responsible for producing the tracks.

Currently, there two types of service offered. Guvera Play, a free, ad-supported service offers listeners the expert-curated access to music with no subscription fees on all devices. So no matter where you are (as long as you have your smartphone or tablet and Internet connection), you get to enjoy 100 percent free unlimited music streaming with the app.

Then there’s Guvera Platinum. Starting from RM14.99 per month, this premium on-demand service with unlimited access lets users choose the songs they want to hear, organise them into playlists and download the music for offline listening.

The music streaming service also plans to continually support the growth of the local music catalogue by reaching out to Malaysia’s music community. That is why one of Guvera’s key features is that it offers local songs and even curated specialised playlists featuring tracks from our homegrown artists like Joe Flizzow, Altimet, SonaOne and Faizal Tahir.

During the launch, Micheal Wallis-Brown, Chief Commercial Officer Guvera Global, President and Managing Director Guvera Asia said, “Guvera is ushering in a new era of music streaming and offering users an exciting new way to experience music that’s simple and effortless. We are thrilled to introduce this technology to all avid music lovers in Malaysia.”

Guvera also collaborated with Lenovo to become the World Wide Music partner. From now on, Lenovo’s mobile devices will be pre-installed with Guvera’s music streaming app.

Available on iOS and Android devices, you can also access Guvera on the web.
