‘Hate' posters against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and public figures Ambiga Sreenevaasan and A Samad Said plastered around Taman Tun Dr Ismail,in Kuala Lumpur, were removed yesterday.
According to a report in the The Sun , Pakatan member parties, Segambut residents and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) personnel toiled from early yesterday to take down thousands of the posters.
Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng was reported as saying the police had arrested 10 people in connection with the incident on Saturday. They have been released on bail.
Lim added that he had received complaints from people in Wangsa Maju, Pandan Indah, Pandan Jaya and Kota Damansara regarding similar posters.
He also urged the authorities to release close circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident.
The posters were found on Saturday morning. They depicted Guan Eng as "anti-Malay" while saying a vote to Bersih chairperson Ambiga was "a vote to free sex".
Guan Eng however was not disturbed by the posters. He was reported as saying they would only make the people despise the perpetrators more.
