Hilary Duff is happily adapting to life as a new mom.

"There's really no words to describe it," the 24-year-old told E! News of motherhood at Bing and DoSomething.org's kickoff event for Bing Summer of Doing in Los Angeles on Friday. "It's the most incredible thing every day. It softens you so much. I feel like a big mushy ball."

While the singer/actress is enjoying every moment as mommy to 2-month-old son Luca, she's also working hard to keep her marriage to hockey star Mike Comrie strong as the couple adjusts to life as parents.

"We go out like once a week together and try and do something fun," Hilary said of her date nights with Mike. "We either go to dinner...we're going to go bowling next week. It's weird scheduling so much because we used to do things on a whim and now we have to schedule. But it's good. It's really important for your relationship."

In addition to mom and wife duties, Hilary is about to add to her hectic schedule by revisiting her music roots, heading back into the music studio next week.

"I'm getting kind of nervous," she dished. "Next week I have all these meetings set with different producers and writers. I'm excited to start that process and I'm so nervous."
