KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- The Home Ministry today gazetted the ban
on the publication of author Irshad Manji''s controversial books entitled ''Allah,
Liberty And Love'' and its translated version ''Allah, Kebebasan dan Cinta''.

Aziz Md Nor said the ban was issued as the contents of the books are misleading
and contradict with the teachings of Islam practiced in the country.
The P.U (A) 162 gazette dated on May 29 2012 was also according to the
Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 whereby to print,
import, produce, re-produce, publish, sell, issue, offer to sell, distribute or
own it is an offense and if proven guilty could be imprisoned not less than
three years or fined not more than RM20,000 or both.
Irshad Manji, who openly supported Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual
(LGBT) lifestyles through her writings had also authored a book entitled ''The
Problem With Islam Today'' in 2009 which offended Muslims worldwide and contained
the same idealism as Salman Rushdie, the author of the novel ''The Satanic
Verses''.
