Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea's largest automaker, has announced that in 2012, they sold 4.4 million vehicles, an 8.6% increase in sales from 2011.
In December, global sales were up 5.4% at 391,152 vehicles. The biggest growth was in their SUV category of which includes the Tucson and Santa Fe models.
The bulk of the foreign sales were cars built at their seven overseas plants in Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, India, Russia, Turkey and the US. 2012 was a good year for the motor company which saw the sale of their hybrid cars surpass the 100,000 mark when combined with sister company, Kia.
